Reviews for Bookbinding Classes in NYC

Bookbinding Classes in NYC are rated 4.6 stars based on 58 verified reviews from actual CourseHorse.com purchasers.

  • class was cancelled by instructor, but I’ll try again another day.
  • What a great way to disconnect and do something creative for a few hours! I was new to bookbinding, but the class is structured in a way that makes it easy to follow along. Arjun and Rose were great, the space is very warm and approachable, and the sparkling water and peanut M&Ms were a huge plus too! Definitely recommend...
  • Intro to Book Arts (One Day Class)

Natalie is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a truly wonderful teacher. Highly recommend this course! Loved all of her information on the history of book-binding while we were completing tasks - and her advice for my specific project was invaluable. Very grateful - thanks Natalie!
  • After Workshop: Coptic Book Binding

Awesome course. Learned a lot. Can’t wait till I take the next one.
  • Bookbinding II: Beginning Hard Cover

I was very happy with the class. There were not a lot of people, so Beth was able to get around to everybody. We made three different types of books, in two days. I am hoping to make these with my high school students, as a club activity, next year.
  • After Workshop: Coptic Book Binding

Very good instructor, very competent, a talented teacher! Very nice class.
  • Intro to Book Arts (One Day Class)

This was a great workshop. Natalie is a wealth of knowledge and an excellent teacher. I came in as a total beginner and walked away with a good foundation of skills to get me started. I would take another workshop with her. Highly recommend.
  • Printmaking for Kids and Families

Shoestring Press is an amazing gem. My 5.5 year old daughter and I loved our holiday card screen printing workshop. All of the printmakers were great, but Eric was exceptional with my daughter. We had a lot of fun and will return again.
  • Carolyn is a great teacher - friendly and patient - and the class was a lot of fun. Can't wait to try binding on my own!
  • Handmade Holiday Workshop: Japanese Stab Bound Books

The teacher was great, but it wasn't what was described in the site. The site had an image of a Coptic binding and the description of the Coptic binding process. I assumed it was a derivation of the Coptic process. It wasn't.
  • After Workshop: Coptic Book Binding

What a great way to spend the after work hours! The class was very relaxing and Natalie was a wonderful instructor. Very patient (especially for someone like me who kept forgetting which stitch needed to go where, etc!) and passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience. Definitely recommended!
  • Bookbinding for Teachers Part 2: Exploration

This was so much fun! I love paper art!
  • Although I apparently lack the ability to make a perfect journal, this class was a ton of fun and the instructor was funny and patient with all of the students! I'd absolutely take it again just to see if my skills can improve.
  • Bookbinding 101: DIY Leather Journal

Our instructor, Caroline, was an excellent teacher as well as being helpful and patient. She took the extra time to work with me as I coul seem to master one particular step. I appreciated her willingness to do this as it required a few more minutes after everyone else had completed their work. I had always wanted to learn how to make leather bound books/journals and hope you offer more classes consecutively since the next one seems not to be until August.
  • This was such a fun class. The atmosphere was really laid back and casual. The instructor was awesome and helped people individually without frustration. I loved the class and am looking forward to taking more classes with Brooklyn Craft Co.
  • I really enjoyed the class! I arrived about 15 minutes late (issue with subway), but the instructor brought me up to speed in no time. She was very personable and gave lots of tips and techniques. I would definitely take another class at Brooklyn Craft Company!!
  • Handmade Journals

I loved this! I might even do it again - definitely try it out if you're into bookmaking!
  • Bookmaking

Sarah the teacher was very patient and was able to describe the process of creating a book in a manner that was easy to follow. It helped that it was a super small class, but I would definitely recommend this class with Sarah and am super pleased with my finished product!
  • Bookmaking

    Very meditative and interesting
  • I liked the class. I kind of wished we learned one more technique. Something more complicated. The Japanese stitch was complicated and I really liked it but I wish there was something else. But otherwise I learned a lot and it was really interesting.
  • The course was good-- everything as described in the course description.
