Class Description

Description

This foundational course teaches the essential skills needed to develop proficiency in figure drawing. The curriculum integrates anatomical study as a fundamental tool for creating expressive and visually compelling figure drawings while emphasizing artistic principles and creative interpretation. Students will examine the techniques that distinguish master drawings throughout art history, exploring how professional artists achieve their distinctive effects.

Through a combination of structured lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, students will develop facility with basic shading techniques, expressive line work, solid form construction, portrait proportions, and additional essential drawing principles. The instructor will conduct live demonstrations of figure drawings from reference material provided to students in advance, allowing participants to draw alongside the instructor and develop parallel skills.

Amazing class, amazing teacher. My only advice would be for there to be a designated area offered for storage of coats and backpacks/purses and such. But, that's and admittedly minor gripe. The class was perfect and the teacher was super helpful and insightful. I learned so, so much. I'm going to highly recommend this to my friends.
