Class Description

Description

Class size: Our open studio nights are intentionally kept intimate — small enough that everyone has room to spread out, experiment, and get support when needed. Glass Night will usually include no more than 6 guests.

Skill Level: Intermediate — open to Craftsman Ave alumni who have taken a stained glass workshop with us within the last year.

What You’ll Be Making: Whatever you want— within the scope of roughly 8×12 inches.

What You’ll Be Doing: Grinding, foiling, soldering, and experimenting at your own pace alongside fellow stained glass lovers. This is a lightly guided open studio night focused on practice, creativity, and community.

What’s Included?

  • 4 hours of studio access
  • Soldering iron access
  • Grinder access
  • Shared solder
  • Standard copper foil
  • Flux
  • Cleaning supplies — paper towels, gloves, Kwik Clean, alcohol, and face masks
  • Light guidance from our lead guide
  • A small shared selection of scrap glass

What’s Not Included?

This is a BYOG (Bring Your Own Glass) event. We’ll have a small communal selection available, but specific colors, textures, and larger sheet sizes are not guaranteed — so we highly encourage bringing your own glass for personal projects.

What to Expect

You step into the studio and the familiar hum of grinders and glow of soldering irons welcomes you back. For four hours, it’s all hands-on: cutting, foiling, soldering, experimenting, and settling back into the rhythm of working with glass. No lectures. No pressure. Just the freedom to practice, refine your skills, and spend an evening making alongside fellow stained glass lovers.

  • A 4-hour open studio session for Craftsman Ave stained glass alumni
  • A relaxed space to practice, experiment, and work on personal projects
  • Community-oriented and peer-supported atmosphere
  • Light guidance and troubleshooting available if needed
  • Access to shared tools, consumables, and a small communal scrap glass bin

Good to Know

  • This is a self-guided open studio night, not a traditional workshop
  • Guests should already feel comfortable cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering independently
  • Projects should remain within roughly A4 size
  • BYOG (Bring Your Own Glass) — limited scrap glass provided
  • Not intended for repairs, commission work, or large production pieces

Refund Policy

  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests 7 business days or more prior to start of a workshop can receive a 95% refund or full credit towards a future workshop.
  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests between 6-3 business days prior to start of a workshop will receive a credit of 50% towards a future workshop.
  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 2 business days prior to start of a workshop will not receive any refund or credit.

All cancellation/rescheduling requests should be sent directly to [email protected]

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
