Buddy Up (2 people! Making 1 thing!)
Two crafts. One session. Something that glows.
This workshop is unlike anything else on our schedule — because it doesn’t ask you to choose. You’ll begin by learning the ancient art of botanical dyeing, using natural materials to coax color and pattern into fabric in ways that are part technique, part beautiful accident. Then you’ll pivot to copper, assembling a small lamp by hand, wire by wire, joint by joint.
The final reveal is the point of the whole thing: your botanically dyed fabric becomes the shade. You switch it on. The room changes.
Two techniques. Two very different crafts. One lamp that couldn’t exist without both.
Class size: Our workshops are intentionally kept intimate — small enough that every guest receives the personal attention they deserve, with enough skilled guides on hand to ensure no question goes unanswered and no detail is missed. Most workshops usually include no more than 12 to 15 guests.
Skill Level: Beginner — no previous experience is required.
What You’ll Be Making: A one-of-a-kind copper lamp featuring your own naturally dyed textile shade, where plant-based colors glow beautifully when illuminated; functional, sculptural, and entirely your own.
What You’ll Be Doing: Get hands-on with botanical dyeing, experimenting with color and pattern. Then, shift gears to build a sleek copper lamp and turn your fabric into a one-of-a-kind illuminated shade.
