Description

Judy Chicago stands as a pioneering contemporary feminist artist, renowned for her monumental installation at the Brooklyn Museum titled "The Dinner Party." This epic artwork features 39 elaborate place settings, each designed to honor celebrated women throughout history, including Georgia O'Keeffe, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Virginia Woolf, and many others.

In this workshop, you will learn about this iconic masterpiece and create your own painted plate as your personal statement of solidarity at the table. Following Judy Chicago's salon tradition, participants will share ideas about feminism, creativity, and the personal female heroes who inspire and influence your own life and work. Through painting and discussion, you will engage with themes of women's artistic contributions, power, and representation in contemporary society.

Your ticket includes instruction on the artist and her work, all art materials needed for your project, and wine for sharing and conversation.
