This class will focus on getting better photographs of glass objects using obtainable tools, then utilizing Photoshop to edit and finalize your images. We will focus on highly accessible techniques and equipment like camera phones, professional and prosumer-grade DSLRs, DIY lighting, flash and basic backdrops to create shooting environments ideal for glass. On the second day, we will cover basic Photoshop techniques so you can update your portfolio with professional-looking images. Your goal by the end of the workshop is to create a small “lookbook” of some of your favorite pieces which can be used to promote your work via online selling sites or social media, and to walk away with the knowledge to continue photographing your own work. Students will be required to bring a piece of work to photograph, their smartphone or camera if applicable, and their own laptop. A free trial of photoshop is available online at www.adobe.com
This class is being offered as part of our 40 for 40 series, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of UrbanGlass. RSVPs must be adhered to. In order to continue running these free workshops we are asking only those who can attend for the full time to RSVP. Students who RSVP and do not attend will not be accepted to any other Professional Development event or workshop.
