Class Description

Description

Join us on this fast-paced Photo Safari to explore some of New York City's most iconic and recognizable buildings. Photograph Times Square, the Chrysler building, Grand Central Terminal, and the New York Public Library. We'll show you the best vantage points to photograph these landmark buildings as you steadily hone your photography skills. On this architectural photo tour, you'll learn how to work with lines and angles to bring these buildings to life, as well as how to photograph architectural interiors effectively and develop a better understanding of white balance in various lighting conditions.

In the end, you'll take home iconic pictures of New York City that you'll be proud to share with friends and family. Note that Iconic NYC safaris scheduled in the afternoon take advantage of the sky's changing colors during the fading light of dusk, and conclude as the city lights come alive with nighttime energy. This photography workshop is appropriate for all levels of photographic experience, from beginners to advanced photographers.

What to Expect on the Tour: This safari covers a lot of ground, so put on your most comfortable sneakers and be ready to move around the city. You will walk between locations to capture different perspectives and lighting conditions. Bring water and comfortable clothing. You will see the city with fresh eyes and discover photographic possibilities you never noticed before.

Meeting Point: Midtown Manhattan (Please see your email for confirmation of the exact location where we will meet.)

Minimum of 2 enrollees for the class to run; otherwise, the class will be cancelled.

This was my second class with Zim. As before, I learned a great deal key photography principles, I appreciated her healthy criticism (I'm a stark-raving beginner), her helpful suggestions, and I admired her persistence in keeping the group (4) on track. (She even oohed and ahhed sufficiently when I did get something close to right.) Zim's a pro, a good teacher and a good guide. I recommend the tour and Zim without qualification.
