Originally developed as a commercial printing process, silkscreen printing has evolved into a direct and dynamic artistic medium embraced by fine artists and designers alike. In this four-week course, you will learn the essential foundations of silkscreen printing (also known as screen printing or serigraphy) and gain hands-on experience with every step of the process. Create graphic, bold, hand-drawn imagery and learn how to transfer your designs onto paper using professional techniques. The course curriculum covers fundamental image processing, color mixing and ink preparation, the printing process itself, and the techniques involved in multiple-layer registration to produce richly layered, multi-color prints.
