Private Class for Two - Valentines Special
Eleni was a highly skilled and kind teacher who easily walked us through the basics of pottery. Both me and my partner were pretty new to the hobby, so she met us where we are. I would consider the course a great value for the amount I paid, and would recommend it to anyone interested. If it were a recurring class, I would definitely consider taking it again. -
Sculpture: Portrait
Our instructor was excellent! I learned so much about building an armature, clay tools, measuring out proportions of the face, and many helpful techniques for sculpting facial features. -
Intro to Precious Metal Clay
One of the best classes and I wish they offered more clay metal classes. I would have really loved to get more time in the class as there was just so much to learn. -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
My Figure Sculpting with clay class at 92Y was more than I expected! We were a small group of people and had a live model every session. My teacher was knowledgeable, approachable, and provided the ambiance to feel creative. Even though it was the first time I did any sort of sculpture, the teacher made me feel like I was doing a good job which led me to feel comfortable. If you are looking for a creative outlet and want to learn how to figure sculpt, this is the class for you at a reasonable price and quality! -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
What a wonderful course! Super setting, instructor, model, and other students. It was highly informative, and fun, and pushed me (in a good way) to become more comfortable and informed about sculpting the human figure. I love that it was broken down into multiple sessions, plenty of extra time if needed, and super loving and joyful overall. I highly recommend it if you're even considering it. -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
Loved it. Great instructors. -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
The teacher was great but unfortunately with Covid we did not have a live model. We did hands, though, which was a good exercise -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
Thank you Karen for being such a fun and patient instructor! -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
This was an amazing course! Karen is awesome. -
Polymer Clay
This was my first try at polymer clay, and the teacher, Valerie Hall, was wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly and generous, and Valerie found time to assist all of us. I left each class with a completed project in hand and new knowledge of various techniques. I gained the confidence to work on my own, and plan to attend more of Valerie's classes, both to learn and have fun. Also, the 92nd Street Y's work studio and facilities are excellent. All the tools we needed were there, and the room was bright, clean and organized. -
Silver Clay Workshop
What a beautiful place! I was definitely impressed! Today I took the Precious Metal Clay class with Amy and I loved it! Amy is very organized, and explains and demonstrates everything so well- there is no way you can't learn from her. She rocks! -
Sculpting the Figure - Jesse Lord Johnson
This was a great class! Great to have two teachers, so that everyone could get guidance. Definitely recommend and will be taking it again! Do wish it was a little smaller in terms of the number of students. But otherwise, I learned so much from Jesse and Cynthia, they were amazing. They each have there own way of doing things, which at first can be a bit confusing. But in the long run, I think it's really beneficial because you get two different methods & two different design eyes to guide you. I learned so much in this class and was shocked at how much progress I made in the end! -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
Karen is an excellent instructor; there is a variety of styles evident in the class as people's individuality is respected. The seriousness of intent is present, and there is a strong feeling of purposefulness in the class. -
Silver Clay Workshop
The silver clay workshop with Amy was very informative and fun. I was able to make a beautiful pendant and have already received several compliments on it! Working with the silver clay was a new experience for me, and I would like to do it again. The class is the perfect length to make something nice. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn the basics of silver clay and make something nice on their very first try. Amy, the instructor, was really nice and took her time to answer questions and help each class member individually with his or her project. -

Standard Sip 'n Sculpt @ Lantern Hall
Had a great time within a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere. -
Sculpting the Figure - Jesse Lord Johnson
THIS IS A GREAT CLASS! Cynthia is an amazing teacher. The structure of the class is pretty loose, which is perfect for people who like to learn from doing, rather than from endless demonstrations and lectures. Perfect for beginners! I had never touched clay before taking this class and Cynthia and the other students made me feel incredibly comfortable and I ended up with a piece I am very proud of. If you have any interest in figurative sculpture, but no idea where to start, TAKE THIS CLASS! You won't regret it. -
Sculpture Without Sight
Really cool experience involving sculpting a selfportrait on a clay head while blindfolded. Only criticism was there was too much other sensory stimulation including very loud lounge music and spraying of essential oils when all I wanted to do was focus on the tactile senses. -
Sculpture Without Sight
Sculpture Without Sight was a truly unique experience! My husband and I went together and we both enjoyed it. The instructor was a lot of fun and energetic, emphasizing that it was all one big experiment, to let loose and see what happens. I would definitely recommend this to other people! -
Sculpture Without Sight
I really enjoyed everything about the class. I really have more of an appreciation for my eye sight. Being blindfolded while shaping the face using the clay model was interesting. Listening to the music, smelling the different aromas, reaching for my glass of water was truly amazing. This class helped me to see how much I really take the gift of sight for granted. The environment was very comfortable. I would take this class again. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole session. -
Standard Sip 'n Sculpt @ Lantern Hall
The class was amazing. The guest sculptor provided great assistance. I attended the class with one goal in mind; to make a sculpture of a little girl representing my sister. I love my design. I would love to attend another class in the future. -

The class is great. The instructor Patrice is nice and very helpful. The studio monitor Tony is great. Great class to take after work if you wanna flex those creative muscles in a very chill environment. The 92nd street Y has great facilities and the staff is incredibly accommodating. A+. -
Silver Clay Workshop
It was a great class! I learned something I've wanted to do. I did feel a bit rushed to finish the project. And I also think I was very overcharged for materials. (I checked the price of silver clay online, and I have to say I found the same product & size for $30 less) -
zxFigure Sculpting with Clay
It was great!! I learned a lot. -
Silver Clay Workshop
Great instruction and loads of fun! Came out with great results! -
