Class Description

Description

Advance your embroidery techniques and strengthen your needlework abilities. In this workshop, you will learn how to incorporate texture and depth into your embroidered pieces while creating a beautiful floral stitch sampler that showcases your developing skill.

Taught by Angela Stewart, an accomplished Brooklyn-based embroidery artist, this workshop covers essential techniques including:

  • Refreshing your knowledge of how to transfer printed images onto fabric
  • Creating multiple embroidery stitches such as fishbone stitch, stem stitch, woven wheel, and French knots
  • Using these stitches strategically to build texture and visual interest in your designs

Upon completing this workshop, you will have finished your first floral embroidery project and acquired the skills necessary to tackle more advanced embroidery hoops independently and with confidence.

Prior experience with basic embroidery or other hand sewing techniques is highly recommended, though not required, if you are ready for a creative challenge. If you are completely new to stitching, we recommend starting with our Beginner Embroidery Workshop first to build fundamental skills.

Materials and supplies: All materials required for the workshop are provided and included in your course fee.

Refund Policy

We do not issue refunds on workshop registrations.

  • If you register for a workshop and later become unable to attend, we will gladly offer a credit if you notify us at least 5 business days before the workshop.
  • Workshop credits are not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to merchandise purchases
  • We are unable to offer credits of any kind, or honor reschedule requests, with less than 5 business days advance notice.
  • Credits cannot be given for any registrations for workshops hosted by visiting/ out of town instructors. Due to the nature of these one-time-only workshops, all events hosted by special guests are subject to this policy. Thank you for understanding!
  • In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).

Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay our instructors -- all based on the number of students who register. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our class prices low.

In fairness to all of our customers, we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness or travel. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a friend!

Refund Processing Fees:

  • The following only applies in the event a provider’s cancellation/refund policy allows for cancellations and a full refund, please see above or contact CourseHorse to determine eligibility.
  • In the event a class is still going to occur and a full refund is requested, and you are eligible for a full refund in accordance with the provider’s policy, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
