Class Description

Description

Learn cross-stitch fundamentals in this beginner-focused workshop where you will master essential techniques while completing an adorable succulent design that you can display with pride. This class covers everything from reading and working with cross-stitch pattern charts to selecting appropriate fabrics, embroidery floss, needles, and supporting tools.

You will develop skills in executing proper cross-stitch technique, plus additional stitching methods necessary for your project. Instruction covers chart interpretation and application as you transfer the pattern onto your fabric, creating your desired image. The course concludes with professional framing techniques using an embroidery hoop to showcase your finished creation.

Materials Provided and Included in Class Cost: All necessary supplies are included, featuring the pattern, fabric, embroidery floss, hoop frame, and needle. The pattern draws from designs by the Stitch Mill, an independent New York-based pattern designer known for charming miniature succulent illustrations.

During class, you will select one tiny succulent design to work on within a three-inch hoop as your primary project. You will complete the class with comprehensive knowledge, enabling you to construct the entire collection independently. Cross-stitch is a leisurely, meditative process, so most students will not finish their project during the session; however, you will have all the knowledge needed to continue at your own pace.

Refund Policy

We do not issue refunds on workshop registrations.

  • If you register for a workshop and later become unable to attend, we will gladly offer a credit if you notify us at least 5 business days before the workshop.
  • Workshop credits are not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to merchandise purchases
  • We are unable to offer credits of any kind, or honor reschedule requests, with less than 5 business days advance notice.
  • Credits cannot be given for any registrations for workshops hosted by visiting/ out of town instructors. Due to the nature of these one-time-only workshops, all events hosted by special guests are subject to this policy. Thank you for understanding!
  • In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).

Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay our instructors -- all based on the number of students who register. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our class prices low.

In fairness to all of our customers, we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness or travel. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a friend!

Refund Processing Fees:

  • The following only applies in the event a provider’s cancellation/refund policy allows for cancellations and a full refund, please see above or contact CourseHorse to determine eligibility.
  • In the event a class is still going to occur and a full refund is requested, and you are eligible for a full refund in accordance with the provider’s policy, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from your refund amount.

Beginner Cross Stitch was a fun, easy-going, laid-back class where I got to try a new hobby and had a great instructor, plus all the materials I needed. It was small, like 6-7 of us, and an intimate environment to feel relaxed and dive in without judgment. I had never cross-stitched before and didn't feel behind or out of place or anything. Would definitely do it again!
