Fine woodworking is the ancient craft of shaping wood by hand. With a few simple tools, you can make anything out of wood.
This course gives students the core skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to continue practicing and learning woodworking on their own (or in more advanced classes). No prior experience is necessary, and all tools and material are included.
By taking this class, you get:
3 workshops — Students will build the fundamental competencies of woodworking in three workshop sessions, 4 hours long each. Students will learn to use traditional hand tools (planes, saws, chisels, etc) to accomplish the core woodworking activities (measuring and layout, stock preparation, joinery, etc).
Joinery tool set — Students receive a set of tools (backsaw, chisels, square, etc) they can use for joinery work in the studio and on their own at home. These tools are yours to keep, and are included with the price of registration.
Wooden tool box — In the final workshop, students will make a fine wooden toolbox to store their joinery tool set and other tools.
Discounted tools — Students will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tool packages at the end of the course.
