Join this class and make your own custom cutting board (with a friend) over two Friday evenings!
(Since March 2012, we've made over 200 cutting boards in the class.)
Real wood always looks so stunning, and in this class you'll be able to arrange your own blend of walnut, maple, and cherry to create your own beautiful cutting board.
You'll also learn more than you ever thought possible about cutting boards, and through that, receive a great introduction to woodworking.
In the first class we'll talk about types of cutting boards, maintenance, and the techniques we use to make all of ours. Shop safety will also be covered in depth. We'll then arrange and glue up our boards.
In the the second class, the chips will fly and we'll add the hand holds on the router table, round over the edges with the palm router, sand the boards, and apply the oil and beeswax finish. We'll even include a mounting hole on the back using the drill press so that you can hang it on the wall (mounting hardware included) - it will look that good...
It's a pretty relaxed class and great way to round out the week on a Friday evening with a friend and some snacks (as well as wine and beer the first session). Actually, it's is a pretty perfect date night...
Hope to see you in the studio!
