  • Erica was awesome! She made the class both informative and fun, with a great sense of humor. She also created a welcoming environment that made it easy to learn, ask questions, and enjoy the experience. Highly recommend!
  • We really enjoyed the class, dumplings were very good. Alvaro was very knowledgeable and patient while teaching. Great recipe!. Thanks
  • Gave this as a gift to my partner and we both loved it! The instructor was fun and personal and gave a lot of great tips. Would take another!

  • This was a great class. A group of friends and I were celebrating a birthday. It was fun, engaging and the instructor was amazing!
  • Chef Al is the best!! Highly recommend this class.
  • Amazing class! Had so much fun and learned so much even though I’ve been cooking at home for years. Great for new cooks too, my husband loved it. Susan was a great teacher - fun, educational, didn’t take anything too seriously, super engaging. Loved it!
  • Chef John is an excellent, captivating teacher who reinspired my love for cooking. He shares great tips and tricks plus entertaining commentary. Would highly recommend this class!
  • Really loved this class. Dona was extremely warm, friendly, enthusiastic, and hands-on. Even though her raw ingredient deliveries were delayed, she was extremely gracious and somehow managed all the food prep so quickly and smoothly that we prepared, cooked, and ate food in a very timely manner. I love that she gave background on a lot of the ingredients, including how the khachapuri is not actually supposed to be shaped like a "boat" as everyone always assumes, but is actually supposed to represent the sun! She also made sure that everyone participated in the food prep and cooking, and was very inclusive. Her explanations on techniques, methods, and Georgian-specific cultural facts were all very clear. The cooking and dining space were also just so cozy, warm, and inviting -- a little gem of a space in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the West Village! I really loved the way the dining room is set up and appointed. A very special touch that I was not expecting was that while we ate, she whipped two different types of Georgian wine, one sweet and one dry, for all of us to try. I've only had the pleasure of drinking Georgian wines a handful of times, so this was a very welcome treat! I'd highly recommend this class to anyone interested in understanding more about Georgian cooking. This class certainly demystified the cuisine for me and helped me realize how approachable it is (and how easy it can be, assuming you have experience cooking) as long as we come in with an open, positive mindset.
  • This class was excellent! Our instructor, Chef Alvaro, was so kind, funny, and very clear with directions. He gave helpful prep and knife-handling tips, and made sure everyone kept pace without feeling stressed. The dumplings also turned out SO delicious. Overall, it was such a fun experience. My husband and I both agreed we'd take a cooking class with him again in a heartbeat.
  • Great instructor, fun class, and the dumplings tasted great!
  • The class was amazing and the instruction was amazing
  • It has been so hard to find a recurring cooking class for people who want to improve their cooking (but not become a chef) but this class is it! Having it recurring helps build upon and reinforce skills. I learned a ton of skills, found new recipes, and ate great food.
  • John was incredible, answering all our questions and so encouraging for us to take our new skills home.
  • I'm SO glad I decided to take this bootcamp. I started as a complete novice and gained so many skills and the confidence to start cooking on my own. The teacher is very engaging and knowledgable, and everyone else taking the class was curious, kind and supportive.
  • Great instructor with amazing insight. Learned so much in one night
  • The class was easy and very informative. The chef did knife skill techniques, explained the best way to prepare food, marinate, ingredients, and temps. The location was great and his music was awesome. I would take another class by him.
  • this class was awesome! from the moment i stepped in the room it was such a warm environment. erica was wonderful, bringing such positive energy and giving us so much knowledge—i left with pages of notes and techniques i can definitely continue to apply in the future (not to mention the food was delicious!). highly recommend—a great experience for even a cooking noob like me :)
  • I learned new cooking skills. The instructor was knowledgeable and I really enjoyed the class.
  • Great instructor…. Lots of positive feedback .
  • Learned so much in this class! Instructor was knowledgeable and personable, food was great, and I feel like I have a lot of takeaways that I'll be able to actually implement on my own.
  • Loved this course so much I'm already trying to figure out a next level of it! Even as someone who already does cook at home, especially within my culture's cuisine I learned so much in this class. In particular strong foundational things that ground you in how to think about food and cooking so that we can continue exploring ingredients and flavors beyond what we do in class. Very highly recommend!
  • Fun, great instructor.
  • Great class, fun and knowledgeable instructor, and amazing food! We learned how to make two kinds of Paella and two other Spanish recipes. Delicious!
  • Excellent instruction and content. Friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere.
  • The teacher was very knowledgeable and patient as well as encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  • The location was nice and spacious & the paella we prepared was delicious! It was a bigger class than expected but we enjoyed it a lot!
  • The class was, great, right on target. The chef/Instructor (Al)was patient, fun and very informative. He taught processes not just how to do things.
  • This was a really great class. Chill environment, good food, and exciting recipes. Chef Al was knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. Highly recommended
  • My experience was fantastic, and it was all very comprehensive, and digestible! The chef was very patient, and was a great teacher! I learned everyday skills, that will help me for a lifetime!
  • Just what I was looking for
  • The class was full of great tips and really laid a solid foundation about best methods of prepping and cooking. The science of cooking was a fresh way to approach the meal. A nice blend of relaxed hands-on experience and rigor. Al really connected with the group and left me—and others—wanting to explore more.
  • The courses were well-run with clear instructions. The chefs/tutors did a great job guiding the class, demonstrating techniques, and assisting when needed.
  • The teacher was very informative with his instructions. And came to every table to help. He also gave us the recipe at the end of the class
  • Great time Jerry was funny
  • It was an inviting and enjoyable class. I had a really good time.
  • Susan is a great instructor! The folks in the class were a lot of fun, overall a great time.
  • The level and scope of the course were as expected and perfect for me. The instructors (Susan, and John for one session) were great, engaging and provided a lot of additional information beyond the notes and recipes we received. Being able to sit down and eat the food we prepared was also a fantastic way to end each session with the group. The size of the group was appropriate and the kitchen well set and equipped.
  • Incredible experience with an expert teacher. Totally changed the way I view cooking and food and I am a much more confident home chef. So grateful for this class!
  • I loved how we focused a lot on the "why" of cooking and the specific techniques rather than just making the recipe. It was also a lot of fun, Chef John was awesome and brought a lot of humor and energy to each session.
  • Great experience. I learned a lot.
  • Got it as a gift for my brother and his wife, and they absolutely loved it!
  • I had a great experience with the Vegetarian boot camp. It was welcoming environment for someone without much cooking experience, and I definitely grew as a chef each week. Erica was a wonderful teacher and was an invaluable resource for questions throughout the program. The small class size made it intimate, which was ideal, and I looked forward to sharing the meal we created with my classmates at the end of each session.
  • My instructor was amazing! Food was incredible and he taught us a lot of basic skills as well as important details for making a great sushi dish. I went as an independent sign up and it was just wonderful! There was also couples and a large work group! Great for all people!
  • We had so much fun! The instructions were very easy to follow and we learned a lot. Would def take more classes with Sitti’s house
  • It was awesome. We worked together to make several classic flavorful Persian dishes. Learned how to incorporate ingredients I’d never handled before!
  • I loved the level of detail the chef went to in order to explain all the different techniques as well as signs to look out for whether it be during the cooking process or grocery buying process. I felt the class was a very welcoming and comfortable environment.
  • I really enjoyed the class and I got good info out of it. I learned which herbs go best together and most importantly how to take care of and store them. I have my own herb garden now on my windowsill!
  • Absolutely awesome instructor and class- was such a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn to cook (not just the basics) but to also meet great people and have a fun time.
