At the New York Sewing Center, our passion for crafting and sewing began in childhood, which is why we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of creative fashion designers through specialized camps. This five-day School Break program enables young students to express their creativity while developing and deepening their sewing skills through engaging seasonal projects they will proudly showcase. The course starts at beginner level, ensuring all participants can follow along and successfully complete projects they can recreate at home for family and friends. During this comprehensive program, students learn fashion sketching and mood board creation, proper sewing machine threading and safe operation, fundamental sewing techniques and specialized terminology, construction of accessories and wearable garments, hand-stitching and machine-stitching methods with professional seam finishes, appliqué techniques, trim application, and hand embroidery.
