The Jalopy Jr. Folk Beginner Camp is tailored for younger children ages 5 to 10. Campers will have the opportunity to explore singing, guitar, banjo, fiddle, ukulele, and traditional folk dances and games. At Jalopy, we pride ourselves on flexibility, and our experienced staff can find a welcoming place for every student, regardless of prior musical experience.
Each day at the Jalopy Jr. Folk Summer Camp is filled with singing, dancing, small group instrument lessons, ensemble playing, and visits from special guest musicians. It is an immersive, joyful week from start to finish.
Our core goal is to make music education genuinely approachable, exciting, and accessible to every child. Our song-based, light-hearted teaching style means students begin playing actual songs from the very first day and will perform them proudly for friends and family at the end of the week. This program is a wonderful fit for any child who loves music and is eager to learn.
Not sure which level is right for your child? We are happy to help guide you to the best option. Rental instruments are available for students who need them.
We believe that music education is about far more than technical skill. It is equally about building personal confidence and learning to collaborate with others. Our staff of seasoned musicians and educators work to create an environment that is responsive to each child's individual learning needs while keeping the experience warm, supportive, and fun for everyone. Join us for a week of music, creativity, and lasting memories.
Please plan on packing a daily snack and lunch for your camper.
