Propagation Seminar: A Hands on Workshop with Common Propagation Methods
Plants are remarkable for so many reasons! Their appearances, their growth patterns, and most of all: their ability to survive. Being able to propagate plants is not just a fun way to create more plants and share with your friends and loved ones, but also a great way to learn more about your favorite house plants.
Why are certain plants more easily propagated in one method vs. another? Why would a plant want to propagate/clone itself? How does this actually happen? What methods can we use at home to be successful when propagating? In this class we’ll cover how to prune/create a cutting, various home propagation methods (what works for some plants and what doesn’t for others), and when is the best time to propagate.
Class Summary
During class, cuttings will be provided for each method we cover so participants can have a more “hands-on” approach of familiarizing themselves with these methods! Because of the wide range of different means to propagate a plant, we will be only covering 3 in this class. Each participant will receive a set of cuttings to experiment with at home! At the end there will be a Q&A for any further questions on propagation.
