Class Description

Description

The New York Acting School is dedicated to providing its students with exceptional value and practical training designed to launch successful acting careers. Recognizing that aspiring actors often balance limited budgets with ambitious goals, the School has developed specially designed money-saving packages as a cost-effective alternative to enrolling in courses individually. Rather than paying course-by-course rates that quickly accumulate, students benefit from carefully curated training bundles that combine the most essential and marketable skills. The School currently offers four comprehensive packages that provide optimal learning opportunities, each structured to deliver measurable value while maintaining the highest standards of instruction. By bundling courses strategically, students can save hundreds of dollars while simultaneously building a stronger, more well-rounded skill set than they could achieve through purchasing individual classes.

The Half Term Package Extended builds upon the foundational Half Term option by adding breadth and depth to professional preparation. This expanded package includes the following comprehensive training components:

  • 18 On Camera Technique Classes priced at $1500 (students may combine Essentials and Advanced level classes according to their experience level)
    • This specialized on-camera training program places primary emphasis on the unique demands of acting for film and television production. Every class session is professionally filmed, allowing students to review their own performances immediately following class on a television monitor. This immediate feedback mechanism enables rapid learning and concrete progress tracking. Classes maintain deliberately limited enrollment to guarantee that each student receives substantial individualized camera time during sessions. Instructors are available to provide personalized guidance addressing any specific performance challenges or goals a student wishes to develop. Throughout these eighteen classes, students will master critical camera skills, including proper eye line technique (understanding where and how to look relative to camera positioning and other actors), vocal projection methods suitable for microphone distance and pickup patterns, emotional authenticity and depth, and physical presence development. The curriculum incorporates practical monologue work, improvisational training to develop spontaneity and authenticity, commercial copy analysis and delivery, and detailed scene work drawn primarily from published film and television materials. Special attention is dedicated to filming close-up work, where subtle facial expressions and micro-movements carry enormous communicative weight.
  • One (1) Star in a Movie Course valued at $1000
    • This experiential learning component provides hands-on training in acting for film through a comprehensive real-world production. Students do not simply study film acting theory; instead, they participate in the production and filming of an actual short movie. This immersive experience allows students to apply all techniques learned in camera classes within an authentic professional filmmaking context, complete with crew, equipment, and post-production processes.
  • Two (2) Advanced Elective Courses valued at $790 total
    • Options include: Agent Showcase (preparing your audition pieces and professional materials to present to talent agents and managers who can advance your career), Business of Acting (covering professional industry practices, networking, career management, and professional development strategies), or Commercials Class (focused on booking strategies and performance techniques specific to advertising)
  • Your investment total: $2750
  • Comparable value if purchased separately: $3290 (representing a savings of $540)

All classes operate on a rolling enrollment basis, enabling continuous start dates. You will work directly with school administration to customize your class schedule in a way that accommodates your personal, professional, and educational commitments.

New York Acting School students have established impressive track records in the entertainment industry. Alumni frequently secure representation, negotiate management deals, book featured and principal roles in major productions, and establish sustained careers in professional acting. The School would be honored to help you achieve your next career milestone.
