Not just for aspiring singers. Every flamenco dancer, guitarist, and aficionado should understand the structural basics of song and rhythm. These are essential elements that young aspiring flamencos in Spain learn from the beginning. Outside of Spain, only hard-core participants ever seem to put time into learning this. Learning song forms, and the rhythmic accompaniment will broaden anyone’s understanding of flamenco. It may also encourage participation at informal flamenco get togethers.
