Step inside the world of professional colour grading with an immersive four-day workshop built around Baselight, the industry-standard finishing system trusted by leading feature film, television, and commercial post-production facilities around the world.
Unlike all-in-one editing applications, Baselight was designed exclusively for color grading by color scientists, making it one of the most powerful and specialized tools available to professional colorists. This workshop goes beyond learning software—you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire color pipeline, from production through final delivery, while developing the practical skills used every day in high-end post houses.
Designed for aspiring colorists, editors, cinematographers, DITs, and filmmakers looking to expand their professional workflow, this course combines technical instruction with real-world industry practices. Students will learn how projects move through conform, grading, look development, VFX integration, quality control, and delivery while working directly inside the Baselight environment.
The workshop culminates with an exclusive visit to a working New York City post-production facility, where students will see professional colourists at work, explore advanced finishing workflows, and learn how feature films are prepared for theatrical and streaming release. A special guest colourist will demonstrate real-world techniques used in feature film remastering and high-end finishing.
Materials: All you need to bring is yourself! Each student will be equipped with a 24-inch iMac with 4.5K retina display running the appropriate programs. Personal equipment is not permitted.
