Intro to Improv

This introductory workshop teaches the philosophy and approach that defines the BCC's unique approach to improv performance. The core concept balances two essential attitudes: saying "FUCK IT," which means releasing worry about outcomes and judgment, focusing instead on committed action without attachment to perfection; and saying "LOVE IT," which means celebrating the pure joy, whimsy, and delight of spontaneous creation on stage. Learn to embrace both perspectives simultaneously and discover how to create fearless, fun, and uninhibited improv.

If you are new to improv, this workshop will establish a fearless foundation for your learning journey. If you already have improv experience, this workshop introduces a distinct philosophy different from other improv schools in New York City. Regardless of your background, you will be challenged and motivated to explore new dimensions of performance.

This introductory class is designed for students new to BCC's approach to improvisational comedy.
