In this course, you will learn to mix and match E and A form barre chords across the entire fretboard and strengthen your understanding of key chord progressions.
This is the last class in the Beginners series. After completing it, you will be well prepared for ensembles, rock bands, lead guitar studies, and many other musical paths.
Most students finish this level in about 6 to 8 sessions, although everyone progresses at their own pace.
To confirm that this class is the right fit, try playing along with the graduation videos. If you can comfortably follow the previous level's video but not the graduation video for this class, then you are in the correct place.
Before attending your first session, play along with the class warm‑up video. You will use this warm‑up every week. There are 9 versions, so make sure you select the correct level. You do not need to master everything right away. The goal is simply to get familiar with the material. For the best results, use this warm‑up during at‑home practice as well.
If you can complete the graduation video successfully, you are ready for the next class in the series.
Prerequisites:
You have completed Beginners 1 through 8 or feel confident with mixed eighth‑note and sixteenth‑note strumming patterns, palm muting, bass‑note strumming, slash chords, arpeggios, bass runs, left‑hand damping, and switching between different strumming techniques while staying in rhythm.
You should also be comfortable with a range of chords, including E‑shape barre chords (major, minor, and 7th), B7, Gadd5, Dm, the small‑barre F shape, and standard open chords. In addition, you can play simple licks over a 12‑bar blues progression and understand the basics of diatonic chord theory.
