Learn the essential skills of hairstyling and earn the designation of an HMUA – Hair & Makeup Artist!
Do you have clients asking if you work on hairstyling on top of doing makeup? Or do you have a passion for highlighting a person’s natural beauty — from hair to makeup? Then, you’ll enjoy our hairstyling program for makeup artists.
This program is designed to advance the talent and skills of professional makeup artists to achieve basic hairstyles leading to an HMUA designation or a hair and makeup artist! In the world of fashion, beauty and entertainment, amazing talents and versatility are expected of makeup artists. Research shows clients are more attracted to booking artists who have the ability to not only do makeup but hairstyling as well. In fact, shows like New York Fashion Week require HMUA’s on set.
The Makeup Academy NYC, licensed by NYSED, offers premiere hairstyling classes for makeup artists. There is not cutting or coloring included in this program, but there is a focus on how to complete a look consistent with modern hairstyling techniques. By the end of this course, you will have gained the experience and received the professional hairstyling tools you need to be a highly talented and successful artist who can dare to dream.
