My one-on-one makeup lesson with Lorin Cole was wonderful. She and I talked in advance about what I hoped to learn, and she created a session that met my goals perfectly. I left knowing how to update my look and what I needed in terms of a few different products to achieve that look. We reviewed my current makeup, she created a detailed list of what I use where, and gave me directions in writing with colors and techniques to reinforced what she taught me in person. I have been able to do everything she taught me on my own. Lorin is a real professional. She is as a former model, a working makeup artist, and a fine artist, all of which she puts into her customized guidance. This course was truly everything I wanted, and more. -

Intro to Perfumery: A Primer
It was so informative and fun in unexpected ways. I'm someone who really enjoys the who/what/why/where/how behind things. I deeply enjoy wearing perfume and using it as a method of self expression. The class both deepens your knowledge and also expands it; I've found myself trying new scents and looking at perfumes with a more critical eye on sourcing and price. The conversation in the class was fantastic, both due to the classmates and the instructor. You don't make perfume in this class, but if you don't take this class, making perfume if you don't understand the process would be pointless. I particularly enjoyed the section around learning how to build a scent - the base, the middle, the foreground. If you enjoy perfume and would like to expand your scent palette, take this class. -

The instructor, Gus Romero, was knowledgeable and engaging, making complex topics easy to understand. I also want to extend my gratitude to Michael C. Long, Ph.D., for his invaluable help and insights throughout the training. I learned so much, and the price of the course was unbeatable considering the wealth of knowledge provided. We definitely got more than what we paid for. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning more about perfumery and raw materials.I am definitely using what I’ve learned to provide better fragrance reviews and I know is just getting better and better for me,maybe I deep dive into perfume creation ? The classroom was very clean, all the oils were properly labeled. Her illustration on oil extraction origin and scent strength were very precise. I don't even remember her name, which she did told us but through my eyes, her charisma wasn't about herself. Her sole performance was to educate us in the art of scent blending. As you can see, I did enjoy that appreciated time in that classroom. She was very professional from start to finish. -

I have worn make-up for nearly 30 years, and have gotten make-overs and advice from make-up counters, Sephora, and online tutorials. However, as I get older I’ve started to wonder if there are better products and techniques out there for me. I’m so glad I went to Shara! I learned SO much valuable information from Maggie. She addressed my concerns and showed me techniques and tricks I was unaware of, and I now feel confident that I have the right makeup and tools. My only suggestion is that they provide a printed diagram that can be used to draw in where makeup should go/makes notes. Although they do provide a sheet with instructions, of sorts, I personally feel like a visual representation would be more helpful. It was a lot of information. -
