Course Purpose and Regulatory Compliance:
New York City construction workers must complete mandatory site safety training hours and obtain site safety identification cards to demonstrate compliance with Local Law 196 of 2017 (also referenced as LL 196). This four-hour course satisfies part of that regulatory requirement and is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings.
Course Focus: Supported Scaffold Training
This four-hour program, approved by the NYC Department of Buildings, is designed for any worker who uses supported scaffolding of any height. All workers using supported scaffolding must complete a minimum four-hour training program as mandated by Local Law 52. Upon successful course completion, you will receive a supported scaffold user certificate, which is required to perform any work on supported scaffolding. Your certificate remains valid for four years from the date of issue.
Course Content Overview:
The training covers essential safety competencies, including methods for preventing fall hazards and managing electrical hazards on construction sites. You will review applicable building regulations and codes, learn ladder safety procedures and proper body harness usage, and master the techniques for correctly erecting and loading scaffolds. Upon successful completion of all training requirements and assessments, you will receive an official completion certificate.
