The comprehensive 30 Hour Concrete Safety Manager course has received official approval from the New York City Department of Buildings and provides an extensive examination of New York City Building Code 3300, local regulations and bulletins published by the NYC Department of Buildings, and applicable OSHA standards (1926, subparts C, E, X, Q, R, and N). This course prepares prospective safety professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to implement safe working practices on major New York City construction projects where 2000 or more cubic yards of concrete will be poured.
Intended Audience: This course is specifically designed for construction workers who plan to apply for a Concrete Safety Manager license and can demonstrate a minimum of five years of hands-on experience supervising construction activities. Applicants must show evidence that concrete work on at least one project they supervised involved the placement of 2000 cubic yards or more of concrete.
Consult the NYC DOB checklist to confirm you have obtained all necessary documentation required for a license application. Our institution provides the completion certificate needed for submission to DOB; however, we do not issue licenses themselves. The New York City Department of Buildings is responsible for processing your registration and handling the official licensing application after you complete the course.
Course Prerequisites: Participants must be able to communicate clearly with instructors in the language the course is taught in. Additionally, you must have successfully completed a Site Safety Manager course within the three years immediately before this course.
