Description

We'll take you from ideation to execution. No prior skills in development or design required. Come as you are and leave a newly minted game maker.

Topics of Learning:
  • Unity Engine (Like Photoshop, but for games.)
  • Game Scripting (We'll teach you some basic C# to get you started scripting your games.)
  • Ideation (Game ideation is it's own practice. We'll walk you through some finer points and refine your ideas.)
  • Testing & Feedback (Building is just the beginning. We'll help you learn how to properly play test and refine your work.)
  • Game Design (We'll teach you the functions of game design and how to find abstract solutions to complex scenarios.)
Fundamentals
  • Learn and grasp the software.
  • Focus on script to manipulate game mechanics.
  • Identify key knowledge for further development.
  • Exploration through experimentation.
  • Walk away with an understanding of how to use Unity to build a game.
Activities
  • Build from a partially created game.
  • Use scripting to manipulate mechanics.
  • Engage in play testing sessions and practice implementing feedback.
  • Meet with mentors for direction on projects.
  • Plan for next steps based on learnings.
Walk away having built, edited and packaged a working prototype.
