Class Description

Description

Through hands-on instruction, this class will help you broaden your capabilities in CSS and HTML, equipping you with the knowledge needed to develop attractive and polished webpages.

You'll explore sophisticated approaches to visually design content and learn more powerful methods for selecting HTML elements with CSS, which will elevate your overall CSS proficiency to a higher level.

Gain command of your webpage layouts by understanding an alternative box-model approach known as border-box, incorporating vector graphics technology (SVG), and implementing visual effects, including CSS gradients, drop shadows, transparent colors using RGBA values, and additional styling techniques. You'll develop an enhanced comprehension of positioning mechanics, including relative, absolute, and fixed positioning approaches; master the use of advanced CSS selection techniques to pinpoint specific elements; and explore the capabilities of CSS variables. Your pages will be more efficient through the implementation of responsive image strategies utilizing CSS media queries, img srcset functionality, and the picture HTML element.

This course follows Web Development with HTML and CSS in our curriculum and serves as the second course in both our Web Design and Web Development Bootcamp programs.
