Description

This 4-session intermediate improv course, or optional 2-session intensive format, provides deeper training than a standard intro class while requiring less time commitment than a full 12-session Level 1 course. You will explore the fundamental principles of improvisation through engaging games, basic scene work, and our school's signature character-based approach to the art form.

The course focuses on these essential components of improvisation:

Connecting and communicating authentically with scene partners
Active listening and maintaining present-moment awareness
Building blocks of scenes, character emotions, and consistent characterization
The "YES, AND" principle and collaborative scene building with a positive, generative orientation

All classes maintain a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere where you can build confidence and have fun while developing your improv skills. This course is ideal for students seeking solid foundational training without the extended time commitment of a longer program.
