In this course, you will continue building your guitar skills by learning essential riffs, licks, and chord theory while preparing for more advanced techniques like barre chords and introductory lead guitar. This level is designed to help you grow your confidence, expand your musical understanding, and get ready for the next stage of your guitar journey.
Materials Needed:
You should bring your guitar, a tuner, and any accessories you typically use during practice. Digital or print access to warm-up videos and graduation videos is recommended so you can practice at home between classes.
Before You Begin:
Most students finish this level in 6 to 8 sessions, though your pace may vary based on comfort and experience. To determine if this is the right class for you, play along with the graduation videos. If you can complete the previous level's video but are not yet able to pass the graduation video for this course, you are in the correct place.
Before your first session, try practicing with the warm-up video for this level. You will use this warm-up in every class. There are nine warm-up levels; make sure you choose the correct one. Do not worry about mastering everything right away. The goal is simply to become familiar with the routine. Using this warm-up during your daily practice will help you progress more quickly.
If you can already play through this level’s graduation video confidently, you may be ready for the next class in the series.
Prerequisites:
This course is for students who have completed Beginners 1 through 6 or who are already comfortable with techniques such as mixed eighth and sixteenth note strumming patterns, palm muting, bass strumming, slash chords, arpeggios, bass runs, and switching smoothly between various rhythmic patterns. You should also know chords such as B7, Gadd5, Dm, the small barre F, and a range of basic open chords.
