This course takes inspiration from Fledgling's original Migration Course, but entirely by and for transgender participants, this is a trans-only workshop. If you identify as trans, you belong in this workshop.
Each participant taking part in this half generative, half seminar-style course will have the opportunity to submit 10-20 (double-spaced) pages of prose (from a story, novel, or essays) and receive an hour of feedback from the group.* Rather than centering on critique, we will approach feedback from a place of abundance, always returning to the question "what do we want more of?" from each piece.
After the first three weeks of workshopping, and a short break, students will undertake either revision of their pages or generation of fresh content through in-class prompt writing sessions. All prompts are specific to each Trans Abundance group, and designed by the leader with special attention to developing skills identified as most useful to participants in the first half of the course.
This course is capped at five participants; please come prepared to give the gift of your full attention and feedback to your fellow trans writers.
Pages must be submitted two weeks before the start of the workshop. Your draft need not feature trans identity or gender at all
Refunds only available for cancellations made 6 business days prior to class start date.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
