Class Description

Description

The cold shop is often considered a place to remove punties and straighten vases, but it can be a place where a basic object can be cut apart and reassembled to make entirely new creations. It is a place where we can create sharp crisp facets and various textures that can change both the look and feel of a piece of glass. During this class we will be looking at alternate ways to make work out of multiple pieces of glass by using just cold techniques.

The class will focus on teaching basic cold working techniques and then show the students how to apply them in conventional and unconventional ways in order to achieve results that can only be found in the cold shop. We will also be covering various forms of adhesives and hopefully resolve and questions as to what should and should not be used when assembling our glass.
