In this two-day workshop students will learn the introductory skills of glassblowing, such as: how to take a gather of molten glass out of the furnace and how to work in small teams in the glass studio! While focusing on building these new handskills, students will learn how to make colorful glassware in beginner forms such as cups and bowls.
What to Expect: Over the weekend class, students will learn how to gather and manipulate molten glass. There will be some demos but it will mainly be supported work time and room for students to become familiar with this material. The students can expect to leave with solid sculptures and blown vessels. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
