As a glassblower, you depend on your body to make your art, and you ask it to perform daily for you. Repetitive movement and extreme asymmetrical usage of your back, arms, hips, and legs are a regular part of your craft, but over time it puts stress on your joints, causes chronic pain, and can shorten your artistic life.
They key to a healthy, sustainable life as visual artist is to learn how to stretch, counter pose, and balance the strength in your body.
This class will focus on just that- strengthening the core for a healthy back, stretching the forearms, wrists, shoulders, and hips, and balancing the asymmetries in the body. You will receive the tools to sustain a healthy happier body, get better sleep, and re-enter your artistic practice with a new appreciation and understanding of your primary tool-your body.
