Class Description

Description

Learn to crochet a top! If you're a confident beginner who has mastered crochet basics and are looking to tackle larger projects, this workshop is for you!

In this 3-part workshop, we'll work through how to crochet a sumner top from start to finish. You will learn how to:

  • Determine sizing based on accurate body measurements to create a great fit
  • Crochet single crochet V stitch
  • Crochet ribbing
  • Create chain stitch bow straps (or an optional wider strap)
  • Join crochet panels

There will be crochet homework between each session!

Materials and Tools Required:

  • 3-6 balls of Shiny Happy Cotton depending on your size -- See photos above for an approximate size chart. Since you each will be making a custom piece, the # of balls needed is an estimate. If you are between sizes, err on the side of caution and round up! We are happy to accept returns for unused class project yarn within 14 days of purchase, or up until the last meeting date of the workshop.
  • 5mm Crochet Hook

Yarn & hooks are available for purchase at our shop in advance and on the day of class at a 10% discount! You will receive an email with your discount code within 24 hours of registering.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Attendees must be confident in the following techniques to attend this workshop:

  • Slip Knot
  • Foundation Chain
  • Single Crochet

Due to time limitations, we will not be able to review these techniques during class. If you are a total newbie or need a refresher, consider attending one of our Crochet 101 workshops first (Chunky Cowl or Cotton Bandana)

Refund Policy

We do not issue refunds on workshop registrations.

  • If you register for a workshop and later become unable to attend, we will gladly offer a credit if you notify us at least 5 business days before the workshop.
  • Workshop credits are not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to merchandise purchases
  • We are unable to offer credits of any kind, or honor reschedule requests, with less than 5 business days advance notice.
  • Credits cannot be given for any registrations for workshops hosted by visiting/ out of town instructors. Due to the nature of these one-time-only workshops, all events hosted by special guests are subject to this policy. Thank you for understanding!
  • In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).

Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay our instructors -- all based on the number of students who register. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our class prices low.

In fairness to all of our customers, we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness or travel. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a friend!

Refund Processing Fees:

  • The following only applies in the event a provider’s cancellation/refund policy allows for cancellations and a full refund, please see above or contact CourseHorse to determine eligibility.
  • In the event a class is still going to occur and a full refund is requested, and you are eligible for a full refund in accordance with the provider’s policy, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
