Class Description

Description

Bargello is a sixties- and seventies-era style of needlepoint marked by repeating patterns, zig-zaggy designs, and bold color choices. While needlepoint has a reputation for being time-consuming and slow-going, bargello is fast and easy.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of bargello as you make a small piece (approximately 8″ square) using vintage needlepoint patterns.

Class will include:
  • Learning to read a bargello pattern
  • How to choose the correct needlepoint canvas, yarn, and needle
  • How to work the bargello stitch
  • How to stitch in autopilot once you establish your design
By the end of class, you’ll have a firm grasp of the basics and will be well on your way to completing your piece. You won’t believe how easy, automatic, and meditative this stitchery is.

Are materials provided and included in cost of the class? Yes.
Class fee includes all necessary materials to complete an 8″ square piece:
  • Needlepoint canvas
  • Yarn
  • Needle
  • Pattern
You can frame your finished piece, sew it into a pillow or bag, or enjoy it in any way you like.

Refund Policy

We do not issue refunds on workshop registrations.

  • If you register for a workshop and later become unable to attend, we will gladly offer a credit if you notify us at least 5 business days before the workshop.
  • Workshop credits are not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to merchandise purchases
  • We are unable to offer credits of any kind, or honor reschedule requests, with less than 5 business days advance notice.
  • Credits cannot be given for any registrations for workshops hosted by visiting/ out of town instructors. Due to the nature of these one-time-only workshops, all events hosted by special guests are subject to this policy. Thank you for understanding!
  • In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).

Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay our instructors -- all based on the number of students who register. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our class prices low.

In fairness to all of our customers, we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness or travel. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a friend!

Refund Processing Fees:

  • The following only applies in the event a provider’s cancellation/refund policy allows for cancellations and a full refund, please see above or contact CourseHorse to determine eligibility.
  • In the event a class is still going to occur and a full refund is requested, and you are eligible for a full refund in accordance with the provider’s policy, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
