Description

This UNINSTRUCTED figure drawing session begins with short poses for attendees to warm up. The longest poses are 20 minutes. We take a 5-minute break every 20 minutes. Cookies and fresh water are available. We listen to music while we work.

Please Note:

  • Please bring your supplies (we have limited supplies to lend out).
  • We can not accommodate dry pastels (for health reasons), open ink containers, or paint other than watercolor.
  • The doors to our events open 15 minutes before each session. If you arrive before then, there is no room to wait inside the building, so please plan accordingly. The doorman will direct you to the classroom.
  • This event occurs on the third floor of a building without an elevator. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the monitor.
  • There is no photography when the model is posing.

Refund Policy

No refund unless the school cancels the class.

No refund or credit for missed sessions (No Exceptions).

No credits unless notified 48 hours ahead of the class.

We do honor change-of-date requests for in-person sketch classes with at least 5 business days' notice and for workshops with 8 business days' notice.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    I enjoyed the class and it was nice they had tables instead of holding the sketch pad. I arrived early so I was able to snag one. The only thing I didn’t like it’s called pizza and sketch and they didn’t have pizza. they had snacks but was expecting pizza. I mean it’s called pizza and sketch.

    Loved this. It was my first time drawing since college and the group was very welcoming, what a relaxed and enjoyable quiet space to unwind and sketch with like minded individuals. KC did a great job setting up the studio and the lighting and was a great moderator. Nothing could have been improved, exceeded my expectations and I will definitely return.

    I've attended several sessions with Drawing NY and they are awesome. I'm new to figure drawing and thanks to Drawing NY I have improved. This Long Pose sessions offers what I needed: more time with the subject. The model holds the same pose in 20 minute segments allowing for 8-9 segments. Plenty of time to really focus on the drawing or spew out several if you're an experienced artist. The atmosphere is tranquil and very professional. Simon, the coordinator, is a professional artist and does a great job executing this session along with other Drawing NY events.
