Class Description

Description

The word "raviolo" first appeared in historical records in 1340, described as a savory dish combining green herbs, cheese, and eggs. Centuries later, this pasta continues to hold a cherished place in Italian cuisine and captures hearts around the world.

If you love fresh ravioli but doubt you could recreate restaurant-quality versions, this class will prove otherwise. Our expert Italian chef instructor will guide you through making authentic pasta dough from scratch. After mixing, kneading, and developing your dough, you will use a pasta machine or rolling pin to stretch it into thin sheets. You will then carefully fill your sheets with creamy ricotta filling and shape each piece by hand. Your finished ravioli will be paired with a simple yet authentic butter and sage sauce. The class concludes with an opportunity to sit down together and savor your beautifully prepared meal in a warm, communal setting.

No prior cooking experience is needed. We provide all equipment and ingredients, which are available at local markets. This class welcomes both enthusiastic home cooks who want involvement in every step and beginners who prefer observing and assisting, or simply enjoying tastes along the way.

Guests booking together will work as a team throughout the class. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Beverages are available for purchase from the venue and are not included in the ticket price. Outside drinks cannot be brought into the class. This experience is for guests 21 and older only.

Refund Policy

Cancellation or reschedule request has to be made at least 5 business days before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 16 business days for groups of 6 people or more.

We thought this course was very fun, self paced, supported and enjoyable. This was our first cooking class and it was great, we can’t wait to try another one.

Loved the experience and Leo was a fantastic teacher. Would absolutely recommend to a friend.

Learning how to make pasta for the first time is something that you should do in person, not just by reading a cookbook or watching a video. I liked that the teacher, Tomasso, was very good at explaining and showing us exactly how the pasta dough should feel (too wet or too dry?), how to knead it, how to put the dough into the pasta machine, etc. etc. He was very informative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. And the resulting ravioli with ricotta, butter and sage were delicious! My only complaint was that the course had too many students (about 30?). Some had to wait a long time to get Tomasso's attention, or to use the half-dozen pasta machines, or to get your ravioli cooked.
  • Handmade Ricotta Ravioli

It was okay. I expected it to be more organized, higher tables, more equipment and tools so we won’t dirty our clothing. The teacher was a bit all over the place.
  • Handmade Ricotta Ravioli

Instructor was all over the place and not as helpful. I think he needs an assistant to help him. Overall, nog s great experience but would do again... just not this class.

Our class was very fun. Our instructor was engaging and informative and the class was on a hotel terrace on a beautiful evening. The ravioli we made was delicious!

  • Handmade Ricotta Ravioli

The chef gave excellent tips on how to make pasta dough, how to use the pasta maker, how to shape ravioli, and what to do with leftover dough at home without fancy equipment. Would have loved to have made the filling/sauce as well but I think they were prepared in advance to save time.

We had a great time learning how to make homemade ricotta ravioli. Chef Una was helpful and so was her assistant Ryan. Our raviolis came out perfect and we had so much fun with our classmates. Only downfall was that the class was within the hotel bar. I think it would be nicer if it were in a private space.

This ricotta class was so much fun! The recipe was absolutely amazing and I’m so glad they gave us the instructions to recreate at home. The instructors were very attentive and helped us along the way. We really did make the ravioli ourselves! The only reason this didn’t receive 5 stars is because I wish we could’ve made the brown butter sage sauce but I do understand that would require each attendee to have a stove which could be a bit difficult. But again, we received the recipe so I’ll be recreating at home!
