Class Description

Description

Immerse yourself in the culinary traditions of southern France with this authentic cooking experience. Transport yourself to the vibrant coastal streets of Marseille as you prepare one of the region's most iconic and celebrated dishes: classic Bouillabaisse.

This hands-on class guides you through every aspect of creating this magnificent seafood masterpiece. You will learn the techniques for building a rich and flavorful fish broth infused with saffron, fresh tomatoes, and Pernod, giving the dish its distinctive Mediterranean character. Discover how to select the finest fresh fish and seafood available at the market, understanding which varieties work best for this traditional preparation.

Master the delicate art of poaching seafood to preserve its tender texture and natural flavors. Learn the traditional method of preparing rouille, the classic garlic and saffron-laden sauce that accompanies every proper Bouillabaisse. You'll understand how to serve this magnificent dish with crispy croutons generously spread with the traditional sauce, creating the perfect complement to the broth and seafood.

The complete meal experience includes a fresh green salad with bright vinaigrette to cleanse the palate, alongside golden roasted potatoes that balance the rich flavors of the seafood. To finish your French dining experience, you'll learn to prepare delicate crêpes for dessert, completing an authentic evening of coastal French cuisine.
