Class Description

Description

This eight-week ceramic arts course centers on advanced wheel throwing and hand-building techniques for creating functional ware and tableware items, including pots, pans, and casserole dishes. Students are encouraged to draw inspiration from renowned ceramic makers such as Le Creuset and Emile Henry to develop their own unique artistic vision. The instructional images are provided as reference material and do not represent products created by Wilcoxson Brooklyn Ceramics.

This course is designed for intermediate and advanced ceramic artists.

Prerequisite: Substantial prior experience with ceramics and wheel throwing is required.

Note on firing costs: Kiln firing fees are calculated at eight cents per cubic inch. To calculate your piece's firing cost, multiply length by width by height, then multiply the result by 0.08. For example, a standard three-by-three-by-3.5-inch cup would cost $2.52 to fire to completion in porcelain.

Refund Policy

No refunds. Credit of workshop available for rescheduling.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
