Class Description

Description

Create your own one-of-a-kind ceramic candelabra or candle holders in this 4-hour, all-levels-welcome workshop. Instructor Damaris Swass will guide you through handbuilding techniques such as coil building, slipping and scoring, and pinching, giving you the skills to build your own distinctive forms.

While we’ll focus on creating functional pieces, there are endless opportunities for sculptural embellishment and for your creativity to truly shine. Students can choose to work with white or brown clay and will also have the option to paint designs on their pieces before they’re finished.

Students will have the choice of glaze color (we will do the glazing for you) and all pieces will be ready fr pickup in approximately 4 weeks after the class date.

Please note: The student firing fee is $0.07 per cubic inch which covers the cost of bisque and glaze firing.
