Create a colorful hand-thrown creation in this beginner's pottery class in Hell's Kitchen! If you're curious about pottery making and want a crash course on the basics, give this NYC class a go!
This is a chance for complete beginners to try your hand at the potter's wheel and experience Agateware or Marbling on the wheel, a gorgeous technique resulting in swirled different-colored clay.
In this pottery class, you will be shown the basics via a short demonstration of how to make a small vessel on the pottery wheel. Then, you'll be guided along as you try it yourself. The spin? The clay you use will be colored clay. The end result will be a stunning combination of marbled streaks that are totally random.
Class time includes intros, demonstrations, working time, and clean-up time for the last fifteen minutes. Come sink your hands into some clay and make a piece of glazed pottery that you'll be sure to treasure!
This class includes one fired piece per person to be picked up in one week.

Is my Piece ready for Pick up?
Because Pottery NYC works with several third party companies we do not send out pick up reminders. It is the responsibility of the student to set a reminder that their work will be ready for pick up one week after the date of their class. The works are kept for a 14-day grace period for pick up. Works "expire" three weeks after the meeting date of your class.
